Engine Rating
The training program is designed for the candidates who are desirous of perusing a career in the Engine category in merchant shipping and ought to become Marine Engineer or Engine officers.
Eligibility:
1. Age 17.5 to 28 years
2. 12th pass (PCM) from a recognised board
3. English must have been one of the subjects
4. Medically fit (eye vision + or – 2.5 allowed) with no color blindnessp
Course Outline:
Introduction to the shipping industry, Familiarization with Engine department of the ship, Types of Engine, Types of pumps, Fuel system, Maintenance & operation of Machinery, Rebuilding an engine, Lifesaving appliances, Survival at Sea, Swimming, Personality development, English & Computer, etc.
Certificates Provided:
Student after successfully accomplishing the training the program will be awarded the course certificate, by the academy approved by Director-General of Shipping, Ministry of Surface, and Transport Govt. of India. In inclusion to the above candidate will also receive INDOS and foreign CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate)
Career Prospects:
The candidate after successfully finishing the pre-sea training the course has to sail for a minimum period of 12 months in order to appertain for Engineer COC assessments/ exams.
